Where Lake Malawi begins...
This is the place where Dr. David Livingstone saw the Lake Malawi for his very first time. It is the point where the Shire river meets Lake Malawi. Villa Tafika, built in 1895, is an old colonial house with a combination of mediterrenean and African classic architecture. The former residence of the captain of the famous gunboat HMS Guendoline has been renovated and welcomes you with modern comfort and classic African design.
Visitors like its historical and green environment with its ever refreshing breeze from the water. Many of our guests come from South Africa, Mozambique, Europe and Malawi. Bar and restaurant are popular both among business people, expatriates, researchers and tourists who appreciate a relaxing, friendly and clean environment, that proudly gives respect to Malawi culture and heritage.
Despite its imposing character, this villa offers its services at reasonable prices. Conference facilities available. No club membership required.
