Along the riverbanks of Shire River, Villa Liwonde is a lodge, that offers a scenic, popular riverside bar with views to the Liwonde National Park. It is rated as the most beautiful national park in Malawi.

Food is served in the cozy, air-conditioned restaurant, on a romantic veranda or in a more natural setting under old Kachere trees. Villa Liwonde is a terrific place to watch hippos and the tranquillity of local fishermen. Enjoy the rich bird-life in a relaxed atmosphere.

Accomodation is offered in five modern rooms (3 double, 1 twin, one dorm with four beds), ensuite. Baby-cot is available on request. All beds are equipped with rectangular moskitonets and screened windows. A standard room is equipped with fan, executive room with aircon. Guests enjoy socializing in the airconditioned lounge with DsTV. Our rates are affordable (~ $36 per double room incl. breakfast, subject to change)

We are happy to announce, that Villa Liwonde offers conference facilities for 50 people in a newly completed conference center in shape of an arch, which gives also a beautiful setting for family and business functions.

HOW TO GET THERE
Villa Liwonde can easily be reached all year round. It is just a few meters away from the starting points for river-safaris (near Hippo View Lodge and the anchoring place of the luxury boat "The Magunde").

Coming from Blantyre on the main road: Cross the bridge in Liwonde town. Shortly after the bridge take the turn off at National Bank to your right. Villa Liwonde welcomes you after 500 m on your right hand-side.
